I’m not sure if you know, but I’m a foodie. So it should come to no surprise that I went to the Food Truck festival Bern this past weekend. This year it was also on the old tram grounds but on a bigger area, which left plenty of space for everyone.
On Friday, the festival started at 5PM and as keen bees my co-workers and I were already there at 5.10PM, to our surprise we weren’t the first ones on the grounds. One of my best friends boyfriend has a food truck, so first up we had one of their burgers, which were deliciousness in a pretzel bun!
A good old food truck favorite is Palestine grill, which were of course also represented with their own truck, good music and amazing falafel wraps. This is a definite must! I had a few bites of my friends wrap (though I almost had to fight her to get some!).
All the food brought up quite the thirst and since it was Friday a Panache (beer with Sprite) was in order.
Back to the food again now! Anything barbecue is always a favorite for me, so a pulled beef sandwich it was. Unfortunately we were not majorly impressed by the sandwich, it was a bit tough.
For the perfect ending of our Friday night, a crêpe could not be missed and there were quite a few crêpe food trucks. When we walked to this one though, we saw that they sell them with Kinder chocolate and Oreos, needless to say, we were sold! Unfortunately it didn’t photograph well and (mainly) we just chowed them down so quickly that there was no time to take the damn picture. There seems to be a bit of a pattern there…
I went back on Saturday again but didn’t take any pictures. I had a Falafel wrap of my own, so I didn’t have to share and shared a pulled pork combi with fries with friends. They had an amazing garlic-herb mayo and as my friends know, I’m aaaalll about that garlic.
This Food Truck Festival was a success in my eyes. Time spent laughing away with co-workers, friends and all of the good food. What is it that they say? Love goes through the stomach? I say it does!
